Samvit Kendra organized a celebration for the 300th birth anniversary year of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar at Aparna Hillpark Avenues, Chandanagar, on Sunday, 16 June 2024. The event also featured the launch of the book “Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar – Queen of Indomitable Spirit,” authored by Smt. Chinmayee Mulye ji.
The Chief Guest, Smt. Aparna Kulkarni ji, highlighted the significant contributions of women throughout history. She mentioned numerous prominent women in today’s era, emphasizing their achievements in fields such as science, technology, biology, virology, research, defense, space, economy, education, politics, and finance.
Prominent writer, researcher, editor, and President of Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Telangana State, Dr. Vidya Deodhar ji, presented the multifaceted dimensions of Ahilyabai Holkar through a series of short stories. Known for building over 15 Mandirs and Ghats and her ardent devotion to Lord Shiva, Ahilyabai’s political acumen, administrative skills, diplomatic abilities, warfare strategies, policies of zero tolerance towards corruption, zero discrimination based on caste, and efforts in rehabilitating the underprivileged were also discussed.
Author Smt. Chinmayee Mulye ji expressed her unparalleled inspiration from Ahilyabai Holkar, which she illustratively depicted in her book “Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar – Queen of Indomitable Spirit.” Chinmayee ji emphasized the importance for today’s generation to know and draw inspiration from all aspects of Ahilyabai Holkar, who, despite not attending university, embodied the wisdom of an entire institution.
The celebration concluded with the felicitation of the dignitaries and the singing of the national song, “Vande Mataram.”
