This work is dedicated to the wretched lives and miserable struggles of the farmers in the Nizam’s Hyderabad – across present-day Telangana, Marathwada and Hyderabad Karnataka. The rewards of their hard work, their dignity and their ancestral lands were snatched by excessive taxation and the cruel, exploitative Land Revenue Act of 1907, which was shamelessly claimed as a ‘reform’. Adding insult to injury, this history of the farmers’ oppression was suppressed for ulterior motives after Indian Independence, adding another dimension to the deprivation of justice. On behalf of the farmers, the real actors who weaponised this exploitation are exposed herein.
